COVID-19 Information for Visitors to the practice
After months of lockdown we are delighted to have now re-opened our doors for face-to-face consultations. When we all went into lockdown in March 2020, our teams began offering remote therapy sessions which turned out to be roaring success with many clients choosing to continue online even now. This means that going forwards RHCP will offer a virtual practice using video call software or telephone consultations as well as face-to-face therapy sessions from our premises in Leicester city centre.
Our opening will be gradual as it will be up to each therapist and client to decide if face to face working is suitable for them, we expect our practice to have reduced traffic until at least the end of this year.
We will continue to monitor government advice. Should we at any point be asked to close due to a high infection rate in our area , we will inform you and we will work with you to decide on the best options available to continue your therapy remotely.
Enjoy a safe visit with us
The health and safety of our visitors and staff is always our number one priority and we have therefore introduced several additional hygiene and safety measures which we have outlined below and which you’ll see in place when you visit. We will ensure that we do everything possible to make sure that you have a safe visit.
If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 we politely request that you, please do not visit us and request an online rather than face-to-face consultation. Please contact us to amend your booking, you will only be able to return to the practice once you have completed a test and that the outcome is a negative result, or once you are well and have completed the necessary isolation period.
Our waiting room will remain closed, please arrive at your scheduled appointment time only.
Bring a face mask
Visitors over the age of 11, will be required to wear a face covering upon arrival and throughout the duration at the practice unless you are exempt from wearing one.
Some of the government exemptions are:

- If putting on, wearing, or removing a face covering will cause you severe distress.

- If speaking with people who rely on lip reading, facial expressions, and clear sound. Some may ask you, either verbally or in writing, to remove a covering to help with communication.
For the full list of exemptions and further information please read the full government document here
Visitors will not be required to prove their exemption of wearing a face covering at the practice.
We are unable to provide any refreshments at the practice. We ask that you bring with you a bottle of water.
To ensure your safety we are accepting card payments only, no cash will be accepted at the practice.
Please keep 2-meter distance from others where possible, all seating in therapy rooms can safely remain 2 meters apart. We have placed a hygiene screen on the reception desk.
We politely request that all visitors uphold the highest possible hygiene standards, through regular handwashing or the frequent application of hand sanitiser.
Hand sanitiser will be readily available throughout the practice. Please use these throughout your visit.
Enhanced cleaning will be taking place throughout the day, seeking to disinfect those points most touched such as door handles, surfaces, seating, and taps.
Deep cleaning will take place in relevant areas if anyone presents themselves to us with COViD-19 symptoms.
We have completed a thorough business risk assessment and we will continue to be guided by the advice of the government and our professional body. We will update this guidance as and when required. Please do visit this page regularly to refresh yourself on our guidelines.

Therapy really helped me to understand why I was attracted to the types of men I was, and that underneath my desire for a long term partner, I realised I was also fearful of commitment myself.
I am now in a very settled and healthy relationship, we are not rushing it but it feels good and very different to the chaotic past. I truly believe I couldn't have achieved this without the help of therapy and I would now recommend seeing a therapist to anyone who is considering it.
RHCP really helped me to separate my personal life issues from my work ones which had become blurred.
I was taking work stress out on my wife, and my marriage stress out on my colleagues! A few sessions helped me to reorganise my issues and then more effectively address them.
I am much happier now and more settled both at home and at work - and happy to say still married!! A great many thanks to my counsellor and the professional service at RHCP.
We had couples counselling at RHCP because we kept arguing even though we wanted to be together, we had six sessions and sorted out our communication so we talk rather than argue.
I really felt that my therapist listened and heard what I had to say and sometimes the questions she asked me blew me away and really made me think. I was nervous at first but she was so nice that I quickly relaxed and began enjoying my sessions.
I think everyone should have therapy!
Rutland House Counselling is a very professional service and I highly recommend them to anyone considering counselling.
Seeing my counsellor has helped me along a huge change in my life. I can't say it hasn't been without difficult times, but it is what I wanted and I am happier now than I've ever been.
